Build log

What's getting built. And what isn't.

Roughly once a month, I'll note what's working, what broke, and what's next. Margin ships in 2027, and I'd rather show the work than pretend it's further along.

Updated roughly monthly · latest: May 2026

The guts work. There's no case yet.

First entry. Here's exactly where things stand at the end of May 2026.

All five themes already work. These are real renders from the dashboard, not mockups, of the same week in each:

Margin's default theme: the red margin line down the left, an overdue item, today's assignments with due times, and a week strip on the right.
Margin · default
The Papyrus theme: an illuminated-manuscript layout with a red dropcap, vine borders, and the week written as a chronicle.
Papyrus
The Minimalist theme: black on white, today and the week ahead as plain dotted lists.
Minimalist
The Retro 8-bit theme: a Game Boy-style quest log in yellow on black, with an overdue boss item and an XP bar.
Retro 8-bit
The Leopard theme: a 2007-era Mac OS X look with window chrome, a Today list, and a dock strip.

Next: a 3D-printed bezel and housing to live with before I commit to the machined aluminum. The first one will be ugly. It'll be here next month.
